This success in Rustavi shows that the government can be defeated by principled steps and joint efforts

In Rustavi, Mikheil Saakashvili reacts to the election of the opposition leader as chairman of the city hall.

The third president welcomes this fact and writes that the process of weakening of the Georgian Dream is in full swing and expresses hope that similar developments will take place in Zugdidi and Senaki:

"I welcome the election of the city hall chairman in Rustavi. Despite many attempts, the Georgian Dream has also failed to take over the city hall in some municipalities, where the opposition was able to win despite the fraud.

This success in Rustavi, as well as in Chkhorotsku and Tsalenjikha shows that the ruling party can be defeated by principled steps and joint efforts, while the process of undermining the Georgian Dream is in full swing. I hope the events in Zugdidi and Senaki will develop in the same way.

Now the most important thing is that our activities in Rustavi and other city hall to be aimed at raising awareness to the many problems facing our citizens, offering solutions and exposing the corrupt steps taken by the Georgian Dream. With faith in victory for the good of our citizens and with everyone's activism we will achieve an early election, which is the only way to change the situation and start a rapid development in Georgia" - Mikheil Saakashvili wrote.
