Another trial in the case of Gigi Ugulava is taking place at the Tbilisi City Court. The defendant Gigi Ugulava is also present at the trial.
A Tbilisi airport security guard, who witnessed the confrontation between the European vice-champion and Gigi Ugulava, is being questioned in the courtroom.
"The trial has probably resumed because the political process has resumed, and it is characteristic of the Ivanishvili regime that everyone who does not like this regime should have the court threaten them as the sword of Damocles. This is the most absurd case in 10 years of political life, because they argue that i have beaten the vice-champion at the airport, a place which is heavily guarded. From start to finish this case was just an order,, and this man got a lot of benefits, but that price included that he had to say that i beat him. If the prosecutors office and the court keeps saying that, than i too shall believe that i beat him," said Gigi Ugulava.
Ugulava says the current justice system is completely "rotten," and it's hard to guess what decision the judge will make. David Parkadze remains among the interrogated witnesses.
Another person remains - David Parkadze, his friend and also a judoka who attacked Giorgi Gabashvili. If they bring him in, we'll see what he has to say. He was the one who started all of this, he was the one speaking and the other one was, the muscle. The bad thing is that these people are defaming the name of athletes," Ugulava said.
