Changes in the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Agriculture - Natia Turnava resigns and is replaced by Levan Davitashvili

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava is resigning. This was announced by Prime Minister Garibashvili at a special briefing held a few minutes ago at the government office.

She will be replaced by Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili.

Where Natia Turnava is headed after leaving the ministry is unknown. The former Minister of Economy said she is "considering several directions" and changing fields:

"I want to change fields. I will try my strength in a different field, I remain a member of the team, so far we have considered several areas, no specifics yet," said Turnava.

She wished success to her successor Levan Davitashvili in the Ministry of Economy and said that during her tenure "a solid foundation has been laid for economic recovery."

"Now is the time for new initiatives, new challenges, and I am sure that Mr. Levan with his experience will be able to handle everything at a high level," Turnava said.

She also thanked the media for the attention she got and for keeping her "in shape:

As for the Minister of Environment and Agriculture, the Prime Minister nominated his former deputy, Otar Shamugia:

"Otar is an IDP from Sokhumi, he was born in Sukhumi, grew up in Sokhumi, graduated from school in Sokhumi, then lived in exile in Zugdidi, Tbilisi, and as they say, with his determination and hard, honest work, became Minister" - Said Gharibashvili
