Head of the SSG sues the "Mtavari Channel", "Formula" and Levan Khabeishvili

Published:

Grigol Liluashvili, head of the SSG, is suing the Mtavari Channel and Formula. In addition to the TV companies, he is also suing Levan Khabeishvili, a member of the United National Movement.

The case concerns the so-called "call centers," episodes, their possible participants and members. According to the lawyer, the information spread in the materials about Liluashvili's connection to the criminal groups is a lie and slander.

We propose to leave Liluashvili's lawyer's statement unchanged:

According to widespread rumors, Grigol Liluashvili, head of the State Security Service was named as one connected to these call centers.

As Grigol Liluashvili's advocate I claim that the information disseminated on the air of Mtavari Channel and Formula, about Grigol Liluashvili's connection with the activities of call centers, fraudulent, criminal or predatory schemes or any other criminal groups is nothing but lies and slander.

By spreading defamatory information the name, dignity and business reputation of Grigol Liluashvili has been damaged.

We are informing the public that a criminal case has been launched against  The Mtavari Channel and Formula TV as well as against Levan Khabeishvili.

The complaint consists of: 1) To deny the claims which are a complete lie and slander; 2) Imposition of 1 GEL as compensation for damages to the defendants.

We clarify that given the established international standards of distribution of the burden of proof, we have filed a reasoned and well-founded claim in court. The purpose of the lawsuit is for the public to understand the truth.

Detailed information about the lawsuit will be provided to interested parties in a press conference next week.
