Genadi Bestaevi has died

Genadi Bestaevi, transferred to Tbilisi from the occupied Tskhinvali region, has died. He was placed in the intensive care unit of a polyclinic for almost 3 months.

Genadi Bestaevi, 53, was kidnapped by Russian troops from the village of Zardiantkari on November 19, 2019. The occupation regime sentenced him to three years in prison.

Bestaevi was brutally tortured by the occupiers in prison. After suffering a stroke on November 15, he was first taken to a Tskhinvali hospital and then to Tbilisi.
