Georgian Dream MP Davit Sergeenko admits that the termination of MP Badri Japaridze's powers was a "semi-political" decision.
As for the statement of the party chairman Irakli Kobakhidze that if Japaridze had pleaded guilty, the ruling team would have made a different decision, according to Sergeenko, this circumstance would not have influenced his decision personally.
"Of course it is a semi-political decision because it is being discussed by the parliament, whether to terminate or not, and it is not a purely legal decision. It's difficult to answer. One half of these decisions are politics, and the other half, legality.
It was important for me to hear the reasoning, the court's decision and so on in making this decision. As for the guilty plea, It probably would not change my decision," Davit Sergeenko said.
