"Kobakhidze's statement indicates that he has instructed the court on how to rule on the jacket case" | Opposition response to the Dream

"Kobakhidze's statement directly indicates that he has instructed the courts ruling on the 'jacket case'," said United National Movement member Khatia Dekanoidze in response to Irakli Kobakhidze's statement that there are "criminals" in parliament.

...Irakli Kobakhidze once again stressed that the " Jacket Case" is politically motivated, which has been repeatedly pointed out by our international partners and has been included in numerous reports, including the Public Defender's report. Also, without a court decision, the expression is a violation of the presumption of innocence. When he, i.e. Mr. Kobakhidze does not have a legal basis to pass a verdict yet, he says that it turns out that there are "criminals" in the Parliament and gives an example of Teimuraz Janashia. And this means that in fact the Georgian Dream has exactly reflected this intention in its statement.

And thirdly, what Irakli Kobakhidze said in violation of the presumption of innocence directly indicates that he ordered the court to make a decision as soon as possible and bring the result of another politically repressive and motivated court case to the public. This is, in fact, a continuation and face of politically motivated repression," Khatia Dekanoidze said.
