Georgia supports steps taken by the international community - Talakvadze on sanctions and opposition initiative

After Russia's recognition of Ukraine's occupied territories, the Georgian Dream is not talking about whether Georgia will join the sanctions.

MP Archil Talakvadze said today that he supports the steps taken by the West.

"Sanctions will be developed by the US and the EU, and of course when we said that we were awaiting effective steps from the international community, we meant these sanctions and the first decisions are already visible to the entire international community.

Georgia supports the steps taken by the international community and our international partners to break the sovereignty of Ukraine" - said Archil Talakvadze.

As for the opposition, the National Movement is going to initiate legislation in the Parliament, according to which the law of occupation will be applied to those entering Donetsk and Lugansk.

"Droa" held a special briefing on the issue - the party says that Georgia must join the sanctions imposed by the West on both individuals and financial institutions.

"Lelo" has taken the initiative to pass a resolution in parliament condemning the recognition of the "independence" of the occupied territories.
