Putin declares war on Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared war on Ukraine.

He recently released a video address on the matter and said that the occupied territories, which he had recognized as independent himself, were asking for help.

"I have decided on a special operation," Putin said.

He said it was not in Russia's plans to occupy Ukraine, but did not specify where it would launch military action.
