The Prime Minister reiterates that Georgia is doing everything possible to support Ukraine. He spoke about this at a government meeting today and again blamed the previous government.
According to Garibashvili, the "destructive and marginalised" opposition wants to repeat the 2008 war.
"Unfortunately, in recent days, the marginal, destructive opposition is trying to play on the noble feelings of our citizens, exploit them, manipulate them and of course, mislead them. We, our government, are doing our best to show maximum support. Whether it be political, humanitarian etc. It is very sad that our radical opposition is happy, I have to say bluntly, about the war in Ukraine, and as they say, they see their own interests in all misfortunes.
"I must also say directly that I am not avoiding mentioning that of course their goal is to repeat the tragedy, which could not have been averted our people and our country in 2008" - stated Irakli Garibashvili.
He said that he remembers well how the then commander-in-chief behaved and showed his cowardly face to the whole nation - "the whole world remembered him for eating ties and grovelling on the ground.
For the record, the government only sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine after Garibashvili's statement was accompanied by criticism and large-scale actions. This aid only costs a million GEL.
