President Saakashvili should be taken to Ukraine or Poland immediately

We demand the immediate transfer of Mikheil Saakashvili from the country, a statement was made a few minutes ago at the UNM office. The main opposition party has reacted to the incident which took place today in Rustavi 12th prison when a guard attacked the third President's lawyer.

The UNM say it proves once again the extent to which Mikheil Saakashvili's safety, life and health are in danger. They therefore demand his transfer to Ukraine as a citizen of that country or to Poland:

" President Saakashvili must be immediately transferred to Ukraine or Poland, Saakashvili's presence in these conditions means continued torture," Levan Khabeishvili said.

UNM also calls for the identification and punishment of the offender, who attacked lawyer Shota Tutberidze today.
