"Georgian Dream" is in no hurry to assess preparations for  Giorgi Gabunia's murder

The ruling party is not in a hurry to assess the preparation for the murder of a Georgian journalist. Unlike July 7th when the noisy program of Giorgi Gabunia went on air when the Georgian Dream government immediately condemned the journalist for swearing Putin and immediately planned the rally in front of the Rustavi 2 building, the Georgian Dream has not made any comments yet.

Members of the government thank the State Security Service for conducting the special operation without causing panic in the societyThey make no comments on the involvement of the Russian security services in a contract killing and the presence in the country of a Russian citizen preparing the murder of Giorgi Gabunia.

I don’t know, to be honest, this issue thoroughly.  I don't think that Gabunia was less hysteric, so I can't tell you what we're dealing with. I have no reason to call the fact that I do not have complete information about the failure of the Security Service," said Roman Kakulia, the Chairman of the Committee on Sectoral Economics.

The opposition believes that intensification of influence of Russian security services in Georgia is quite noticeable, as in the case of Afghan Mukhtarli. The opposition calls for a rapid response to the incident and a full investigation.

Unfortunately, as a result of the collapse of this entire state security system and the strengthening of the Russian influence, we have come to the point when Putin, Kadyrov, send a Russian citizen to Georgia to kill one of the most prominent journalists. This is an incredibly impressive blow to the state security mechanism, and I will not refrain from saying that this is a sovereignty issue" - said Khatia Decanoidze, a member of the political council of the United National Movement.

She believes that without intervention of the security services of a friendly country, a very difficult situation could have developed in Georgia.

In fact, Russian spies are moving around Georgia and they have no problems. We realize that this is an order from the Russian Federation, there are many cases where Kadyrov actually fulfills Putin's tasks. We hope that the investigation will be completed, - said Sergo Ratiani, a member of European Georgia.

We would like to remind you that a few days ago the State Security Service detained in Tbilisi Vasambek Bokov, a Russian citizen who reportedly was in Georgia to liquidate Giorgi Gabunia. The murder of a Georgian journalist was ordered by Ramzan Kadyrov. State Security Service confirmed the fact that preparations were going on for Gabunia's assassination only after this information was broadcast on  "Mtavari Channel".
