"In 2014, I took the sacrifice on my own account" - Yanukovych's "advice" to Zelensky

Published:

Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has sent a letter to President Zelensky. He writes that he surrendered his posts in time to prevent bloodshed, and now it is time for the president to do the same.

"You promised Ukrainians from day one that you would end the war, the Ukrainian people supported you too, you were supposed to be a peace-loving president, but unfortunately that did not happen...

I personally accepted the sacrifice to end Maidan in 2014," Yanukovych wrote Zelensky.

Yanukovych left the country in 2014 after the Maidan riots and fled to Russia. He is considered a confidant of Putin and the Kremlin, and the occupier wants him re-elected.
