"You must not remain silent, because you are also part of the Georgian nation!" - Stefanchuk sent a letter to Georgian MPs

Chairman of the Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk has sent a letter to MPs of the Georgian Parliament.

The letter says: "How come you decided to start trade relations with Russia who is at war with your brotherly nation, Ukraine?!"

Stefanchuk replied in this way to Russia's offer to open the market for 15 Georgian dairy companies.

"Don't you see that the Georgian people in the streets support Ukraine, not your vague agreement. Haven't you forgotten the words of the great Shota Rustaveli that the biggest enemy among enemies is the one who pretends to be a friend.

We all know for sure that Georgia is not just a government, it is a proud, fearless and compassionate Georgian people who will never keep silent when their brother is in distress.

You must not remain silent, dear parliamentarians, for you too are part of the Georgian nation!" writes Stefanchuk.

For the record, the Georgian government later said that companies had approached Russia in 2020 to enter the Russian market, but received a response after the start of the war in Ukraine.
