Unfortunately, the president is misled, she is caught in a misunderstanding - Gharibashvili

According to Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, President Salome Zurabishvili is "misled", but when asked who has misled the president, Garibashvili can no longer answer the question.

"I think I have to mention once again that, unfortunately, the President of Georgia has been misled.
I would like to suggest that she has found herself in this uncertainty, in this misunderstanding.
I would also like to express hope that everything will clear up in the near future and these issues will be resolved as well" - said Irakli Garibashvili.

As reference, the Georgian Dream held today the meeting of the Political Council and published a detailed statement criticizing the President. According to the ruling team, Salome Zurabishvili's goal is to go beyond the limits of the constitution.

According to Irakli Garibashvili, the government refused to allow the President to travel abroad because "when such complicated processes are taking place in the region," the Commander-in-Chief had to be in the country.

"There is a very simple answer to the question why the government did not give consent to Salome Zurabishvili. The Georgian constitution makes it clear that in any such case the President of Georgia must come to an agreement with the Georgian government, the government gives its consent or refuses to plan and carry out any foreign visit.

Neither then nor now, when there is such a complicated process in the region and Ukraine is in a large scale war, I believed the government, every member of the government believed and still believes that the President of Georgia should have been and is supposed to be in the country. This was our main argument and motivation to refuse her visit," Irakli Garibashvili said.
