According to Nika Gvaramia, CEO of the Mtavari Channel, Georgian Dream wants Irakli Kobakhidze to become president. He responded to the ruling party's preparation of a constitutional lawsuit against President Zurabishvili and addresses Zurabishvili and urges her not to make bargains with the Dream leaders.
Nika Gvaramia also says Zurabishvili now has a historic chance to make the right decision.
"It is clear what is planned. There are plans to make Irakli Kobakhidze president. You know that the new Parliament elects the President and elections are not held, this is done by voters. The voters not only include MPs but also members of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia and the Supreme Council of Adjara from which the "Dream" will gather the most votes, as well as members of the councils that were elected through these rigged local elections. It is clear what will happen if Kobakhidze does not win in the first round, in the second round 50% of the votes will be enough. The constitutional will write what the 'dream' wants," said Nika Gvaramia.
He said the government doesn't have enough votes for impeachment, but the president must be well aware that the largest opposition party will face a moral dilemma if Mikheil Saakashvili remains in prison and the issue of her impeachment arises.
"I advised Salome Zurabishvili not to engage the Georgian Dream coalition in a political bargain now, because this political bargain will definitely start, and she must be bold, including with Saakashvili and other issues," said Nika Gvaramia.
For reference, the Georgian Dream held today the meeting of the Political Council and published a detailed statement criticizing the President. According to the ruling team, Salome Zurabishvili's goal is to go beyond the limits of the constitution.
