Georgia's third president Mikheil Saakashvili says he has received information from various diplomatic sources, including the intelligence services of one country, about a planned provocation against Georgia.
As Mikheil Saakashvili noted, provocations are being planned in the occupied territories and the ultimate goal is for Georgia to declare its neutrality:
"I have received information from various diplomatic sources, including special services of one of the serious countries, that a very big provocation is being prepared against Georgia.
You see, they always say that there is a war party in Georgia. Do you know? I hate war and all my nightmares are that I am at Peking, at home, my neighbours are being bombed, my yard is being bombed, and I cannot do anything. I have a second nightmare that I am with Romelashvilis in their tank, and we are all burning together. War has left me with this trauma and I want you to know I personally hate war more than anything else, I am sure that all normal people also hate war. If you look closely, no one talks about war except one group in power. They talk about war all the time, and the word war has never come from me. It seriously makes you think.
I realized what they are doing and what they are planning to do after I got the information. The point is that the plan is to stage a provocation in our occupied territories and along the borderline, after which they will blame the Georgian opposition groups for this provocation and then the Russian government will demand from the Georgian government to immediately declare neutrality and the Georgian government will be ready.
They also made a special video clip. Some provocative group comes out and say that while tanks have left Tskhinvali and Abkhazia, let's rush and take them. This is made by FSB. I appeal to all politicians, I weigh all my words, and you weigh yourselves. Now they want to lead us into provocation. None of the calls should go in the direction that we should go somewhere and take something. Russia is losing catastrophically in Ukraine, our allies are winning," Mikheil Saakashvili said.
He also explained how the situation in Ukraine and Georgia is different in terms of neutrality.
"You know what they say now about Ukraine's neutrality, but Ukrainian neutrality means different things. Ukrainian neutrality means a very well armed Ukraine with security guarantees from the US, our neutrality is the abolition of Georgian statehood. That plan is being prepared," said the third president.
