Another victory in the August 2008 war case before the Strasbourg Court.
The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) released the ruling on the 370 individual complaints from residents of the Tskhinvali region against Georgia, declaring them inadmissible.
"The Strasbourg Court divided the arguments of the Georgian side that during the war the Tskhinvali region was actively bombed by the Russian Federation and the Georgian armed forces did not exercise control over the Tskhinvali region and the adjacent territory.
In addition, the European Court shared arguments of the Georgian side that the complaints were clearly unfounded as no evidence of the minimum standard could be presented to substantiate the claims of the applicants," said the Minister of Justice.
According to the Minister of Justice, after this decision the Strasbourg Court will only look into 154 complaints against Georgia, which is the best indicator. Bregadze thanks the law enforcement agencies for this.
