According to the chairman of the Georgian Dream Irakli Kobakhidze, the longer Mikheil Saakashvili spends in prison, the less damage he will do to Georgia and Ukraine. He said that the third president could aggravate an already dire situation in Ukraine.
"Saakashvili should not be released and he should not go to Ukraine again and once again in the interest of our friend the Ukrainian people. You remember how he aggravated the situation in Georgia, especially in 2008, and he could also aggravate an already difficult situation for the Ukrainian people. Therefore, first of all, taking into account the interests of the Ukrainian people and proceeding from these interests, it is certainly inexpedient to release him," Kobakhidze said.
According to Kobakhidze, Mikheil Saakashvili is serving his sentence and his release will not be considered in any way.
