Mikheil Saakashvili responds to the aid allocated to Georgia from the US budget. According to him, the allocation of only 126 million dollars shows that the U.S. does not trust the Georgian government:
"In my time Georgia was one of the to three countries in the world to receive American aid. The bulk of that aid was given to the government to build roads, build an American university and so on.
Yesterday Biden announced a new draft budget, which gives 7 billion to Ukraine and only 126 million to Georgia. 88 of that is not given to the government, but to nongovernmental organizations to fight for democracy. This in itself shows a complete lack of confidence in the government.
We are given only 25 million for defense, which is a disaster, because back under Shevardnadze we were given 66 million. It's a complete deadlock. We must act immediately!" - Mikheil Saakashvili wrote.
