Nika Gvaramia, CEO of the Mtavari Channel and the lawyer of the third president, responds to the statement of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Seimas of Lithuania and says that as long as there is political justice in the country, statements in support of our Euro-Atlantic integration will be made only with stipulations.
According to Niki Gvaramia, these stipulations and conditions do not apply only to Mikheil Saakashvili.
"I want to welcome the extraordinary statement of the Lithuanian Seimas, which once again proved that Lithuania is one of our closest and most consistent allies.
There should be many such statements, but it takes work,, Lithuania has now done it on its own initiative, because it is our closest friend, but we should not depend only on unilateral initiatives of our friends. This is an extraordinary statement, an unequivocal but not unconditional support for our Euro-Atlantic integration, there are conditions, one of which is for Mikheil Saakashvili to get treatment, I stress because such statement should not be a clear and open diplomatic attack on the Georgian government, in fact it is quite reasonable, I think for everybody, including the government, no more and no less. What else is there to say, you should know that there will be many statements in our support, but everyone will have such stipulations, not only in terms of Saakashvili, in general, as long as political justice exists, there will always be stipulations, and this support will not be absolute. We, the state, need the European family now more than ever. We need them, not the other way around, remember that," Nika Gvaramia said.
For information, Lithuania is calling on the Georgian government to facilitate the transfer of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who is in prison and has serious health problems, to a European state for emergency treatment.
