Irakli Kobakhidze, the chairman of the Georgian Dream, says that the interview of the chairman of the Ukrainian Rada with Imedi gives grounds for optimism in various directions.
According to him, the ruling team expects that Shalva Papuashvili's visit will be the beginning of solving "problematic" issues.
"There are topics that will prevent further improvement of bilateral relations and of course, these issues will be discussed during the visit. The main purpose of this visit will be to express solidarity, but there will be a very natural conversation on all topics. We heard an interview with the Speaker of the Rada of Ukraine yesterday, and this interview gives us grounds for optimism in various directions.
Of course, it is impossible to say in the assertive form that all issues will be resolved at once, but we have grounds for optimism that the Speaker will have a friendly conversation with his counterpart in Ukraine and this will be the beginning of resolving all issues. This is our optimistic expectation," Kobakhidze said.
For reference, the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said today, April 13, that he had a friendly conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart and confirmed his readiness to arrive. As he noted, the communication and Ruslan Stefanchuk's interview on Imedi TV assured him that "there is a possibility to resolve all the inconveniences and misunderstandings." Earlier, "Dream" named its conditions for a visit to Ukraine.
