"He is a little worse than he was before" - members of the Ombudsman's Council were allowed to visit Mikheil Saakashvili

Members of the Public Defender's Council met with Georgia's third president. According to the Minister of Justice, doctors visited Mikhail Saakashvili this weekend.

Despite a request from Mikheil Saakashvili and his lawyers, doctors had not been allowed into the Rustavi prison for months. It is not known why the agency has made such a decision now. The doctors refrain from giving details, the ombudsman will inform the public about the report they have prepared.

"He is a little worse than he was before, even as he seemed in court, this is the basic conclusion. Controlling his limbs were already quite difficult during the hunger strike; there were no big shifts in that regard. There were some shifts that we will publish about in detail and try to explain.  Rapid deterioration is less likely. They are doing everything, medically speaking, that they can, from what i am looking at, nothing seems to be missing. I can't talk about details, we have n agreement with the Ombudsman, she should come out tomorrow or the day after tomorrow and tell us about the decisions that have been agreed," said Tengiz Tsuladze, a doctor who is a member of the council.

The Ministry of Justice has made no official statement on the matter.
