Russian-sanctioned oligarch Vladimir Yevtushenko confirmed in an interview with F1 that his company's vice president, Ali Uzdenov, met with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi.
The oligarchs claim the meeting took place "likely in March" and was "likely about the holiday.
For reference, the topic was discussed in a recording of a telephone conversation made public on April 25.
" I wished Bidzina Ivanishvili a happy birthday last time. Millions of recordings went viral, I don't know, many of these recordings are fake. Ali Uzdenov was in Georgia, he also met with the Prime Minister. I don't remember when, I think in March. There was no political reason for it. You'd better ask him. In any case it was just another visit. With Ivanishvili I have a friendly relationship, instead of a business one. I never had a working relationship with him, even when he had a business, we were always friends," Yevtushenko said.
For reference: Two recordings of a conversation between Georgian Dream founder Bidzina Ivanishvili and a Russian oligarch were made public on April 25. The Russian oligarch Vladimir Yevtushenkov, calls Ivanishvili with a business idea. Ivanishvili's answers show that he himself is interested in the deal. Yevtushenko is the owner of Sistema, which produces combat drones.
