Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili reacted for the first time to the recordings of Bidzina Ivanishvili and the sanctioned Russian oligarch. In his opinion, the Prime Minister should not comment on obscure recordings, and these recordings do not say anything at all.
"In general, I do not think that the Prime Minister should comment on any obscure recordings. Here is this, an obscure conversation, it is not authentic, it is unthinkable to me to speculate at all on such recordings and make even more serious comments. We, of course, understand very well that the main goal of the disseminators of these secret, falsified conversations is what was their goal and what is still the beginning of a war in Georgia. This is what they are angry about and, roughly speaking, with something like this they are trying to mislead the public, our international partners. Of course, I can't say anything else, this recording doesn't say anything at all. I am not interested in recordings of such content," said Garibashvili.
He says he doesn't want to talk about the subject because he has too many issues and thoughts to think about.
The sanctioned Russian oligarch confirmed to the Mtavari Channel on April 26 that he spoke by phone with Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of Georgian Dream. The oligarch says anyone can come to Georgia without having to answer to anyone. He also confirmed to Formula that Garibashvili met with the vice president of his company in Tbilisi.
