According to Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the meetings between the representative of the sanctioned Russian oligarch Ali Uzdenov and Davit Khidasheli in Georgia did not yield any results. He told journalists that he could not even remember the last name of Ali Uzdenov.
Garibashvili confirmed that he did talk to Khidasheli, adding that he refused to meet him because he was out of town.
"Businessman David Khidasheli, he made an extensive comment yesterday, and I'm certainly not going to start commenting on what he once said and re-explaining what he meant. I was actually contacted by Mr. David Khidasheli that there were some business proposals, and I very simply said that I could not meet, I was out of town and redirected him to the business sector. As he himself confirmed, the mentioned Russian businessman came to Georgia and met with several representatives of business together with Davit Khidasheli.
My main question is to ask the authors of this campaign and alleged investigators of this scandal. What kind of continuation, what kind of results did this yield?! Zero. There was no continuation of David Khidasheli's meetings with the businessman you mentioned. The businessman's meetings in Georgia did not lead to any results," said Garibashvili.
