Just because someone has a share in an offshore doesn't mean he is circumventing the sanctions - Kadagishvili on Ivanishvili

According to Georgian Dream MP Irakli Kadagishvili, the fact that someone has a stake in an offshore company does not mean that he is trying to circumvent sanctions. This is how he responded to a Transparency International study, according to which Bidzina Ivanishvili owns at least one company in Russia through an offshore company.

"Just because someone has some stake in something offshore doesn't mean that they are somehow circumventing the sanctions or anything like that. Especially since this is all before the war and the imposition of any sanctions, this is data from that time. Therefore, the usual manipulation is going on here; they want to harm the country somehow with these manipulations," Irakli Kadagishvili said.

According to TI, Bidzina Ivanishvili's relatives, who have joint companies with family members of former and current high-ranking Russian officials, are also actively engaged in business activities in Russia. The news here is that after Russia imposed sanctions against the West, one of Ivanishvili's relative's business partners was put on the sanctions list."
