Constitutional amendments were adopted in the second reading by 115 votes against 3 - voting on the constitutional amendments ended in the plenary session of the Parliament. 119 MPs registered for voting in the session hall, so a quorum was held.

Before the voting, independent MP Eka Beselia said that the main law of the country deserved to be distributed among the legislators before the voting.

The United National Movement and European Georgia did not participate in the discussions. Both sides warned the government that they would not support the amendments until the March 8 agreement was fully implemented and Giorgi Rurua was released.

"European Georgia" only participated in the first vote to prevent the ruling team from failing the amendments.

Recall that according to the draft amendments, the 2020 parliamentary elections will be held under a mixed electoral system (120 proportional, 30 majoritarian) and the threshold of 1%. The draft law was adopted in the first reading on 21 June.
