Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili said in response to Alexei Arestovich's interview that such "baffling" statements damage the relations between the two countries.
"Traditionally, as before, we, the Government of Georgia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, do everything possible to help our friend Ukraine in this difficult period, to the best of our ability. This process has been and will certainly continue in the same spirit. Unfortunately, these kinds of statements do a lot of damage to bilateral relations, and we hope that there will be no more such statements and, therefore, it will not complicate this kind of bilateral relations. We strive to continue and further develop our bilateral relations as we do, and it's unfortunate that such baffling statements are spreading, which only harm the relations between the two countries," Darchiashvili said.
For reference, Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich said in an interview with the Voice of America that the attitude of the Georgian government is unfriendly. He noted that if Georgia supports Ukraine, it will have the support of the whole world, and this is a historic chance for the country.
