Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgia's third president, was visited in prison by his lawyers. Dimitri Sadzaglishvili says that every official who actively or passively participates in the process must understand that they will be responsible for a possible fatal outcome.
"Everyone should understand that every official who actively or passively participates in this process should understand that their identification is simple and their names will not disappear. They will always be responsible for any possible fatal consequences that may develop. The president's responsibility is higher, given that Mikheil Saakashvili is the third president. "They have a moral obligation to abandon their legal obligation, but unfortunately we see that he is not taking any action in that direction," said Dito Sadzaglishvili.
Giorgi Mshveneradze says that their main goal is not to pardon, but to protect the health of Mikhail Saakashvili.
" Our intention is not about pardoning Mikheil Saakashvili, but our goal is to protect his health in this case, which unfortunately the Georgian penitentiary system cannot react to properly. That is why whether it will be a pardon, or any other procedure which will allow him to get adequate medical care, which unfortunately is not possible in Georgia, will be the right step," - said Giorgi Mshveneradze.
For reference: Mikheil Saakashvili's family, representatives of NGOs, the United National Movement and doctors are asking to transfer the third president for treatment abroad.
