Postponed hearing and forgotten motions - Judge Nino Chakhnashvili did not listen to the lawyers today.
Two documents were submitted to the judge, one by the Penitentiary Service, the other by Mikheil Saakashvili. The third President wanted the trial to take place and the lawyers filed a petition. We are talking about a motion by the lawyers to ask the court to order the Prison Service to provide adequate medical care for the third president.
As a response to Mikheil Saakashvili's request, Nino Chakhnashvili postponed the hearing and did not allow the third president's lawyers to discuss the motion at all.
The defense only made a statement at the court, urging the judge not to postpone the trial and not to schedule it in the coming days, as time was crucial for the third president, although the judge only satisfied the state prosecution and declared the hearing closed.
Nino Chakhnashvili's decision was accompanied by a commotion in the courtroom.
The next court session is scheduled for May 11 at 12:00 p.m.
