Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said that the state will not allow the third president to escape punishment and that this subject should not be confused with his health risks.
According to Papuashvili, now Mikheil Saakashvili's supporters must get busy with calling on and persuading him to recieve all the medical services offered.
"Today everyone, regardless of origin, position and so on, everyone who today says freedom for Misha , all laugh at the victims of Mikheil Saakashvili's crimes, all laugh at the idea of justice. Therefore, of course, in this respect, the state is obliged to execute the sentence passed by the Georgian court in all three instances, including by the decision of Strasbourg," Papuashvili said.
According to him, it is not within the competence of parliament to assess the possibility of taking Mikheil Saakashvili abroad or to assess his health condition. Papuashvili said that the state offers Mikheil Saakashvili all medical services and he refuses some of them.
