Opposition demands participation of international group of doctors in assessment of Mikheil Saakashvili's state of health

The opposition demands the involvement of an international group of doctors in assessing the state of health of Mikheil Saakashvili. Opposition leaders will also hold a special briefing on the issue today.

MP Tamar Kordzaia says they are asking the government to invite specialists from a medical institution that has a contract with Georgia.

"The government of Georgia has said absolutely nothing about Mikheil Saakashvili's health except mockery. That's why today I'm appealing to invite specialists from one of the most famous American medical universities, the M2 Clinic. Because it is much easier for our government. They have contacts with the Georgian Medical University and respective clinics and we must invite the doctors, if they do not trust Georgian doctors, preferably forensic medical experts and ask a question: is this the environment in which Mikheil Saakashvili is in torture and can this environment make his health worse?" - Tamar Kordzaia says.

For reference, the opposition also says it will appeal to the legislative bodies and will take Mikheil Saakashvili hostage if the government takes Mikheil Saakashvili abroad.
