Today the National Movement faction will register the MPs' initiative on a pledge for Mikheil Saakashvili to take him abroad for treatment. Today this initiative will be sent to the Minister of Justice.
Yesterday under the leadership of the United National Movement-United Opposition, we applied for taking Mikheil Saakashvili out of the country for medical treatment, because he is not receiving normal medical treatment in the country, it is not a matter of evading justice, it is just a matter of his health. Therefore this is not a one-party initiative, representatives of other opposition parties will join it, as well as representatives of the public, because we are not talking about the leader of one party, we are talking about the life of a president for two terms, so this is a public matter, and I think that many will support it. This initiative will be registered today and will be sent to the Minister of Justice on behalf of our faction," said Eka Kherkheulidze.
"Lelo" says that the initiative lacks a legal basis, as it is not provided by law, according to MP Ana Natsvlishvili, she can not share it.
Paata Manjgaladze, a member of the Reform Group, said it was important to use bail and all other means to protect the health and life of Mikhail Saakashvili.
