EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell is in Kakheti. The ambassador familiarized himself with the projects financed by the European Union in the region.
Harzel said there was nothing guaranteed about the constitutional changes, though he was confident the changes would be adopted. He said there was a lot of support for the process from all sides and these changes would have the key positive impact.
Commenting on the 8 March agreement, the EU ambassador said that they would follow the October elections very closely. According to him, the responsibility should be accepted by all parties. He said responsibility should be taken by all parties. The ambassador said that the elections should be held with high confidence and should be conducted in an environment that promotes this high level of trust.
Hartzel says it is everyone's responsibility to create an appropriate environment to support change in the spirit of the March 8 agreement.
According to the Ambassador, when any change is to be adopted, constitutional or legislative, it is important to legitimize the process and it is also a very important signal both in Georgia and abroad.
