The third president was visited by lawyer Shota Tutberidze. According to him, Mikheil Saakashvili is weak, still cannot eat food, and his neurological condition has deteriorated.
According to Tutberidze, he was talking to Mikheil Saakashvili about the arrest of Nika Gvaramia during the meeting. According to Tutberidze, Mikheil Saakashvili considers it a blow to Georgian democracy.
"Weakness is noticeable, he still cannot eat food, we have no progress in this direction, his neurological indicator has deteriorated. Whether there is a proper treatment, despite my deep respect for all the people who make up the staff of the clinic, I cannot say, it must be determined by specialists and people with the appropriate qualifications, which, unfortunately, including through the court, are not allowed to the penitentiary service.
Today we discussed the issue of Nika Gvaramia's arrest; the President still believes that this is, first of all, a big blow to Georgian democracy. The motives of the government, other than personal spite, repressive policies, and authoritarianism, are unclear to him. However, he is convinced that this will cause a disproportionate blow to Georgian statehood, to the path of European integration and to the development of Georgian legal culture in general," said Shota Tutberidze.
