I know Ms. Tsulukiani well, when I was ambassador, I had a very close relationship with her. It was heartbreaking for me to make that impression on her, and that she thinks i had such motivations, former U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly responds to Deputy Prime Minister Tea Tsulukiani's accusation on "the Mtavari Channel" that he doesn't love Georgia.
On "Guest of the Day," Kelly said that Georgia is a sovereign country, as is the United States, and it can deny entry to anyone they believe is acting against the national interest of the United States.
"The accusation that I don't love Georgia, you probably saw my comment on what I wrote about the United States under the previous administration. I was very critical back then as well. Part of the policy that the previous administration had. I was very critical of it, and that doesn't mean I hate America. At exactly the same rate, you can't say I hate Georgia because I'm critical of something," Kelly said.
