Mikheil Saakashvili's medical history is being studied by his personal physician. The 400-page document was given to Nikoloz Kipshidze yesterday by the administration of Viva Med clinic. Now Professor Kipshidze is getting acquainted with all medical diagnoses, examinations and treatment schemes together with the doctors who are members of the Alternative Commission.
Preliminary reports show some alarming changes, including a spinal cord injury and possible surgical treatment. After a 13-day course of treatment, Saakashvili's condition has not significantly improved, and the number of diagnosed conditions is so great that he is divided into three groups.
The leading diagnoses are related to gastrointestinal damage from a 50-day hunger strike; the second group is psychoneurological and deals with post-traumatic nervous disorders, and the third group is an old history of blood diseases.
The third president's doctors say it is hard to imagine treating all this in Georgia and in the clinic where Mikheil Saakashvili is.
Yesterday, the third president made a statement about his own health. A special statement about him was later issued by the Viva Med clinic, which denies that the third president's health has deteriorated during his stay there.
