Minister of Culture Tea Tsulukiani calls the European People's Party a lobbyist for the UNM and believes that its main goal is to prevent Georgia from obtaining EU membership status. In her opinion, this is what yesterday's statement by the EPP is aimed at.
According to Tea Tsulukiani, the statements of the European People's Party were developed by the National Movement. According to the Minister, it is not clear why the party still considers Mikheil Saakashvili a great democrat.
We know, but now our society is aware as well is that the National Movement and its lobbyists, in this case specifically the European People's Party, which is considered a partner organization of the National Movement, the so-called political family and lobbyist, is trying to deny the Georgian people, our country and the state the status of an EU candidate. Of course, this is not just one group, there are many such groups and their main goal is for us to somehow fail on our way to Europe as a nation and a country.
Currently, their main goal, including the European People's Party, is to prevent Georgia from obtaining EU membership status. This is also where this statement is directed, which is, to put it mildly, quite absurd. It is also disgraceful that the European People's Party is no longer hiding the fact that its official statements are made by the National Movement. This is the title of this statement. It is also, to put it mildly, incomprehensible that a man sentenced to several years in prison in several criminal cases, I mean prisoner Saakashvili, is still considered a great democrat by the European People's Party," Tea Tsulukiani said.
Tsulukiani believes that granting Georgia a status would be fair and any other EU decision would be unacceptable. If the country fails to get candidate status as a result of the EPP and "other people's efforts," she said, the government will have the appropriate assessments.
