"No one can accuse Igor Dodon of the type of crimes committed by the Saakashvili regime," Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of the Georgian Dream, told Imedi TV.
Speaking about the EU candidacy, Kobakhidze spoke about the case of Mikheil Saakashvili and Nika Gvaramia and drew a parallel with the pro-Russian president arrested in Moldova.
"Following the application for EU candidacy, the case of former Moldovan President Igor Dodon was opened and he was arrested in a few days on this charge. Now as for the context: Dodon had a meeting with another politician, a wealthy politician, and at the end of the meeting he handed him a black plastic bag and there is suspicion that there was money there, though there is no evidence other than that the bag transfer is seen. Of course, everyone can have assumptions, but, we know what the standard of criminal evidence is, the former president has caught on to it.
As for the crimes, no one can accuse Igor Dodon of the type of crimes that the whole society knows has been committed by the Saakashvili regime. Among them are 5 criminal cases on which charges have been filed. If we take Gvaramia's case, we are talking about one plastic bag that was transferred from one person to another, in this case there is a very clear scheme of how Rustavi 2 TV was robbed. As for the harm being done, Igor Dodon, despite his orientation, does not even come close, unfortunately, to the former leaders of our government," Irakli Kobakhidze said.
