Nika Gvaramia demands compensation of $5 million from Rustavi 2 for gross violation of labor contract

Nika Gvaramia is demanding compensation from Rustavi 2 for gross violation of his employment contract. We are talking about 5 million US dollars. This was announced by Nika Gvaramia's lawyer Dito Sadzaglishvili after he left from the Rustavi prison. According to him, by firing Nika Gvaramia, Kibar Khalvashi violated the contract:

"Nika Gvaramia had an employment contract with Rustavi 2 that prohibited him from being fired until December 31, 2020 because he was supposed to be in office untill then, and Nika Gvaramia's firing by Kibar Khalvashi is violating the requirements of that contract, which gave Nika the right to demand $5 million from Rustavi 2. That's the damages he suffered from Rustavi 2's breach of the agreement. If anyone has been damaged by this relationship, it is Nika Gvaramia. So we decided to officially notify Rustavi 2 in writing about our position and wait for their response.

The position refers to our written request because since Nika Gvaramia was fired by Kibar Khalvashi and so, grossly violating the terms of the employment contract between the company and Nika Gvaramia, Rustavi 2 is obligated to pay compensation in the amount of $5 million," said Dito.
