Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili reiterates that the opposition is trying to prevent the country from obtaining EU candidate status by visiting Brussels and ordering articles. He spoke about this at a government meeting and said his European colleagues expressed surprise when they spoke to him about it.

"It is unfortunate, of course, that the destructive forces within us and I have informed our citizens about this, tried and still are with articles, stories in foreign media, in the press, at their meetings in Brussels and our European colleagues were amazed at how much of an anti-state and irresponsible campaign they were unfolding against their own country, their own citizens" - said Irakli Garibashvili.

The Prime Minister said that he believes that there are wise, prudent politicians in the EU and they will also make wise, prudent and fair decisions.
