Viva Med plans to limit visits to Mikheil Saakashvili - Penitentiary institution has already sent a letter to the lawyers

Published:

According to Shota Tutberidze, the lawyer of the third president, the lawyers demanded that several more people, including his father Nikoloz Saakashvili, be added to Mikheil Saakashvili's list of visitors but received the answer that the list was being restricted. The resolution is dated May 30.

The lawyer says the response could be a prerequisite for the ban on visitors, and it is possible that the ban will also affect parliamentarians:

"We received a letter from the Penitentiary Service addressed to the head of the escort department stating that visitors are not allowed to visit inmates without a negative covid test result and the consent of the clinical director.

I don't know their end goal is, but the risk of what we are seeing is that it could be related and pave the way for a full ban on visitors. There is also a possibility that the restrictions will be extended to parliamentarians," said Shota Tutberidze.

At the moment there are no restrictions on visitors to Viva Med yet.
