If the candidate status is determined by war, we don't want war, friends - Garibashvili

According to the prime minister, the status of an EU candidate country belongs first to Georgia, then to Ukraine and Moldova. In his opinion, the granting of the status should not be determined by war.

Garibashvili reiterates that if the decision on this issue is unfair, the citizens will be explained everything in detail and told what were the main reasons why they took the "shameful" decision in the first place.

"If any is worthy, friends, it is Georgia, then Ukraine and Moldova. That they say that Ukraine is at war and because of this it should be given candidacy right away, sorry but if candidacy is determined by war, we do not want war, friends, we demand the deserved status that the Georgian people have earned through their struggle, 30 years of struggle to build a democracy and on the way of implemented reforms for the last 9 years, we only demand this, I spoke publicly about this in Davos, Bratislava, Brussels, everywhere," said Garibashvili.

Garibashvili also said at today's government meeting that Georgia is 10 times ahead of Moldova and Ukraine.
