The prosecutor's office and not only them tried to tear out the exact date from the doctors of when they could come" Mikheil Saakashvili's lawyer Shota Tutberidze said after the trial at the Viva Med clinic.

The session was postponed because of Mikheil Saakashvili's grave health condition, and this grave condition was confirmed by his doctors, including a neurosurgeon.

"The court was given exhaustive information about the president's medical condition, as well as a notice sent to the court, in addition to the notice sent to the court from the hospital, which clearly stated that the president could not appear in court. Unfortunately, the judge thought that it was only about transportation, but the doctor confirmed it meant that Mikheil Saakashvili could not testify and participate adequately in the process," Shota Tutberidze explained.

According to the lawyer, Mikheil Saakashvili has not seen the participants of the trial today.

When asked about the scheduling of the trial the lawyer said the authorities are in a hurry as it is possible that the Strasbourg Court will soon announce the verdict in Mikheil Saakashvili's case, where the considerable violations by the state will be noted:

"For example, the motive is that the Strasbourg court will soon announce its decision on the case of Mikheil Saakashvili, where I believe that the Georgian state will be found to have committed significant violations and the Georgian government wants a new verdict, which technically can not yet be appealed. . What changes for the Georgian authorities is that if they had to overturn Mikheil Saakashvili's sentence or get a recommendation for release from the Strasbourg Court, they could have a new sentence for demagogic purposes and say that others were overturned, but this was not. ", - said Tutberidze.

The trial, called the Border Crossing Case, has been postponed until June 27.
