The Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, while presenting his annual report to the Parliament, reiterated that members of the ruling National Movement had fled the country in 2008.
According to Gharibashvili, the war was a tragedy, a disaster and we saw shame. Gharibashvili called the opposition MP "pathetic" and "worthlesst".
"Until 2012, after the war, that is, as soon as the war ended, in a few months, the war was a tragedy, it was a tragedy, the things we have went through and the shame that we saw, a groveling commander in chief, a fleeing defense minister and runaway MPs, fled the country. You ran away from the country! You! Who was at war ?! The army was at war, the police were at war," Gharibashvili said.
This statement was followed by an uproar from the opposition in the parliament. Gharibashvili said in the address of the opposition MP - "You are a pathetic person, supporter of maniacs".
