The Prime Minister's speech was absurd and very insulting - Zurabishvili about Garibashvili

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili is outraged by Irakli Garibashvili's spiteful and hateful speech in Parliament today. This was said at an emergency briefing.

"What we saw on Monday was really a free expression of our society, and it was what we were no longer used to, and what Europe asked for, unity. Unfortunately, today we saw a second face - I am totally concerned about what I heard in Parliament today.

What we saw in Parliament was the opposite of what the public showed. The public showed - restraint, politeness, respect for each other, the Parliament showed the opposite - polemics, scolding, intolerance for each other, everything negative that could be shown about our face, we showed today.

Added to this was the speech of the Prime Minister, who, in any case, sent a negative message to Brussels that we are the best, we did everything well, nothing is a problem, we are much better than your Ukraine and your Moldova, we did not understand why they were put above us, that the only reason was probably that you wanted war and we don't want war, that is absurd and very insulting in its content," Zurabishvili said.

According to Zurabishvili, while the country is waiting for such an important decision from its partners, as it is to be announced in 24 days, the government is required to do two things - understand the voice of the people and understand what is expected of them by the countries partners.

"They expected something very simple - to show political will, yes, we have read the recommendations, we will analyze, it does not mean that we will take everything at face value, but we are ready to do everything together that is asked of us at the end of the year - if you take at least some steps and show the political will, you also get candidate status." This was stated by Salome Zurabishvili in her speech.
