Georgia got what it deserved - Garibashvili on the European perspective

Irakli Garibashvili congratulated the Georgian people on their European perspective. He said this at a briefing at the government office, noting that Georgia got what it deserved:

"Yesterday was truly a historic day. Georgia got what it deserved. This is a well-deserved achievement. The European perspective was rightly awarded to our country. You saw how directly, openly and publicly it was recorded that Europe has indeed opened the door to our country. It is also a recognition of our people's desire for their European ideals, their commitment, our perseverance, our integrity, the result of our struggle and 10 years of work by our government.

We heard their assessment that the granting of the European perspective actually opened the door to Europe forever, and it was explicitly recorded that the country was given the European perspective to become an EU member state. It really is a well-deserved achievement, and I congratulate the Georgian people," said Garibashvili.

Recall that last night the European Union gave candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova, while Georgia was only given a European perspective.
