Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili says he is not going to resign, which is totally absurd. He says he won a mandate strengthened by the people by winning the election.
"Of course I'm not going to. This is complete absurdity, on the contrary, we are obliged to fulfill to the end all the promises made by our team. Let me remind you that I became prime minister last February. After our team won a well-deserved victory in the election. We won for the eighth time, and I received a strong mandate from the people to serve our people and our country, so your question is also irrelevant," said Garibashvili.
For the record, the Council of Europe granted candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova on June 23, and in the case of Georgia, it recognized the country's European perspective. The Council will return to the issue of granting candidate status after the country meets certain conditions.
