Minister of Economy Levan Davitashvili reacted to the statements of the chairman of the Servant of the People faction of the Rada of Ukraine, calling them baseless, irresponsible and insulting.
Arakhamia said that the Georgian government is helping Russia circumvent sanctions. In addition, he noted that data on transactions abroad and reports of many deputies and ministers from Georgia will soon become more accessible.
According to Davitashvili, Arakhamia must present evidence of the allegations.
"It seems to me that a lot of things that have been said were absolutely unserious, it's about protecting the interests of the country, and in this difficult situation the Prime Minister of Georgia is doing a particularly good job. The interest of the country is stable development, safeguarding peace and the further development of economic prosperity and creating greater well-being for our people, these tasks are being carried out by the head of the Georgian government and therefore he will certainly continue in his position.
As for Mr. Arakhamian's false accusations, which we heard before, in the previous cases they were absolutely irresponsible statements, unsupported by any facts, the same is true today, we only heard talk about the accusations, but not what they were based on . He has to present the facts. I believe that this is an absolutely irresponsible and insulting interference in the affairs of the Georgian state by a politician from another country, which is unacceptable and insulting to each of our citizens," he said.
After that journalists asked Davitashvili if he has any information on who has accounts abroad. Davitashvili said: "One thing I can tell you for sure, I can't speculate others, I personally do not have accounts in foreign banks."
